Miracles Occur Through the Hearts and Hands of Nurses

Nurses for Safe Access (NFSA) was created by Linda West-Conforti, RN. She is the founder of Angels in Waiting (AIW) which is

a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charity that is created by nurses who have been addressing the needs of America's growing population of medically fragile infants and children in foster care for more than 15 years.

Our nurses have closely and personally experienced the heartbreaking effect of the current opioid crisis on the most vulnerable population—America’s medically fragile and opioid-exposed premature infant population.

Across America, our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) nurseries are burgeoning with opioid-exposed newborn preemies. These babies are fighting for their lives and experiencing the relentless anguish of neonatal abstinence syndrome, an escalating problem for newborns, families, communities, and nurses.

Drug abuse during pregnancy is now a national medical concern! Substances such as heroin, oxycodone, and other narcotics are easily absorbed into the placenta, which contributes to grave complications for fetuses and newborns.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to provide nurses with safer access to our lucrative and growing medical CBD industry. We strive to set the gold standard in offering professional, safe, and efficacy-driven cannabinoid health care.

We do this with the help of our collective, caring, independent CBD nurse advocates. Our organization gives our nurses the tools necessary for them to succeed in a rewarding business opportunity.

NFSA is dedicated to the advancement of nursing, cannabinoid education, and utilization of medicinal CBD and other promising botanicals for medicinal use—based on the efficacy we discovered in an evidence-based nursing model. It is our goal to:

  1. Provide nurses with safe access to America's lucrative and growing medical CBD and cannabinoid industry
  2. Offer CEHs for a curriculum related to CBD and Nature's Medicine
  3. Help address America's growing opioid epidemic by offering patients an opioid alternative and a nurse advocate
  4. Introduce patients to medical CBD and other viable botanicals as a complementary and/or alternative treatment modality

America's Opioid Crisis

Methadone and buprenorphine (synthetic opioids) are the two most common opioid-like drugs used by Western medicine. This is to help address opioid replacement therapy for substance-abusing, pregnant women who seek treatment.

Even with those prescriptions and the enormous profit margin the pharmaceutical companies are making by providing these opioid-like substances, many innocent newborns still experience severe neonatal abstinence syndrome withdrawals.

Recently, Dr. Sanjay Gupta spearheaded an impressive CNN documentary, showing how medical cannabinoids and cannabidiol (CBD) are capable of alleviating the need for opiates and possibly becoming the solution to America's growing opioid crisis. Like Dr. Gupta, our founder strongly agrees that medical cannabinoids, if used properly through the guidance of allopathic nurses, may help address our growing opioid crisis.

It will reduce the number of precious preemies and newborn infants going through the painful and lifelong debilitating effects of neonatal absence syndrome and the withdrawals associated with it. As a result of witnessing the heart-wrenching effects that opioids have on our most innocent and vulnerable population firsthand, our founder created another nurse-driven mission to address America's growing opioid epidemic.

Through nature's medicine and the hearts and hands of dedicated allopathic nurses, we are the only profession large enough to address one of America's largest growing health-care crises.

Nurses, please step up and become a CBD nurse advocate today.
